“How was your vacation?!?” 🏖️☀️🌊 W “How was your vacation?!?” 🏖️☀️🌊
Well, here’s my honest answer: It was challenging, with some beautiful moments sprinkled in. I realized more than ever that flexibility is key. Skipping going out to dinner or not doing all the planned activities is totally fine when your kids are waking up at 5:30 am and melting down by 5 pm. As a type A personality, I felt a lot of pressure at the beginning of the week to do “all the things.” There were laughs, tears, tantrums, and that doesn’t even include the kids. 😂🫣

We had some truly special moments—exchanging “I love you’s,” jumping into the waves, painting sea shells, cuddling in the “holiday” (thanks, Peppa Pig) house. Overall, we made it home in one piece, so I’d call it a success. Am I exhausted and craving alone time? Absolutely. But I also know I’ll never get this time back with the kids. As a friend put it, it’s “destination parenting,” which is a great way to reframe it.

Now, back to unpacking... Do you ever feel the same, or are your “vacations” dreamy?

Ps shoutout to “zen zhyen” @eugenesuccs for all the early mornings and heavy lifting. 💪🏻 It literally takes a village and that includes the best Grandma and Grandpa. 💙❤️
