About Mollie

Mollie Tunitsky is a passionate chef, baker, and food blogger who believes that we all have the power to enjoy food and live a healthy, fulfilling life. After many painful years of misdiagnosed stomach issues, discomfort at restaurants, and being told to “avoid this” and “stay away from that,” Mollie’s journey to health and wellness led her to the low-FODMAP diet. By making smart, simple modifications to her diet, Mollie transformed mealtime from an anxiety-inducing affair to the most enjoyable part of her day. Cooking became fun again as Mollie challenged herself to be creative and resourceful while making new recipes that would not result in digestive issues. Today Mollie lives a less restricted lifestyle and has discovered new FODMAP-safe foods she loves to eat and incorporate in her recipes.  Mollie lives a fit, fab lifestyle with her husband in Houston, Texas.

About the Company:

Ever since college, I have had stomach issues which have ranged from different degrees of annoying to laying in the fetal position.  I would see doctors who would diagnose me with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and give me little to no solutions.  It wasn’t until three years ago I decided to see a new doctor who introduced me to the low FODMAP diet and recommended I work with his nutritionist.  You know when you have those moments in your life that are seriously life changing?  This was one of them.  I thought I was eating all the right healthy foods but it turns out everything I was eating was only making me feel worse.  This is where the FODMAP diet comes into play and turned the way I eat and cook upside right. When I was first introduced to the diet there was very little information on the internet about it, and definitely a lack of great FODMAP safe recipes and I wanted to change that!

In August 2015 I finally decided to take the plunge and start my own website www.fitfabfodmap.com after being a dedicated blog surfer for many years. I spent $400, hired a coder from fiverr and got going (didn’t even tell my husband!) I have always had a love of cooking from a young age and would pretend I had my own cooking show which was being recorded through the oven (of course!).  My parents may even have a few traumatic memories of my kitchen disasters involving exploding blenders, burnt fried rice, cookies to name a few.

In 2017 I was approached by Callisto Media to  write   which was published in October 2017 and as of August 2018 has sold over 12,000 units with 75 reviews and an average 4.7 stars on Amazon!

I have just ordered your cookbook. Am praying it doesn’t have a lot of strange ingredients like so many books I’ve ordered. I am 73 and just had one of the most painful attacks and still need to go to the bathroom! I don’t know what to eat.

I agree, I have purchased some complicated LFM cookbooks with weird ingredients. We ordered Mollie’s book a few months ago and it has been transformative for me. I am a mom and cook nightly. Mollie’s cookbook has SO many EASY-to-follow recipes with very basic LFM ingredients. I have been able to cook her recipes nightly for my whole family. My kids have loved the Fall Salad, Pumpkin Pasta, Fajitas, Stuffed Peppers and tomatoes, Chocolate Chia Pudding, and chocolate chip cookies. We use her cookbook almost every night now. I am hoping she writes a second book soon!!

I LOVE your book Mollie! It’s made a huge difference in how I feel and the recipes are so easy and delicious. One suggestion- the first time I made the peanut butter choc chip power balls I used regular steel cut oats (so stupid of me!) but I didn’t realize they need to be quick steel cut oats – if you ever do another edition maybe add that in? Anyway thanks so much!
